Gal Gadot Expresses Regret for “Imagine” Video, Acknowledges It Was Insensitive: “I Should Have Chosen Differently” on Bigo Live Stream
Gal Gadot has come forward to acknowledge that her controversial ‘Imagine’ video was not appropriate and in “poor taste.” She admits that it was a mistake to have done it.
Gal Gadot has openly admitted to regretting her participation in the “Imagine” video which caused quite a stir. In a relaxed interview with InStyle, the “Wonder Woman” actress acknowledged that the video was not the right thing to do at the time and was in poor taste. Gadot further revealed that she had been closely monitoring the pandemic situation in Europe and Israel before filming the controversial video back in March 2020.
Gadot acknowledged that she saw where the events were leading, but she felt that the decision to assemble a group of celebrities, like Jimmy Fallon, Natalie Portman, and Will Ferrell, to perform a John Lennon song was too rushed. She admitted that it wasn’t appropriate or the right time, and despite their good intentions, the result fell short of their expectations. As the star of “Wonder Woman,” she expressed her opinion about the matter.
When the COVID-19 pandemic began to spread throughout the United States, Gal Gadot took to social media to share a video. In the video, she reflected on how the virus had affected the world and left her feeling philosophical after spending six days in self-quarantine. Gadot was moved by an Italian man who played “Imagine” on his trumpet for his neighbors during lockdown, which prompted her to sing the 1971 hit. Other famous personalities like Jimmy Fallon, Maya Rudolph, and Zoe Kravitz also joined in and sang a line each.
Despite the popularity of Gadot’s video, it faced backlash from certain individuals who argued that wealthy celebrities should be doing more than just singing to support those affected by the coronavirus pandemic. Some social media users suggested that these celebrities should use their financial resources to make a tangible impact by donating to resources that can truly benefit those in need.
As per a person’s perspective, some well-known figures are generously donating money to aid those affected by COVID-19, while some are not doing so. Gadot had already spoken about this matter in an interview with Vanity Fair in October 2020, stating that her intentions were genuine but agreeing that it was not the right move to make at the time.
On occasion, even with the best intentions, our attempts to perform a kind act may not be suitable. This is something that she expressed, revealing her desire to promote optimism and affection throughout the globe.
