During her acceptance speech, she expressed her gratitude and dedication to standing up for what is right, especially for those who cannot speak up for themselves, in light of the recent wave of sexual harassment allegations in Hollywood. She assured the audience that she will never be silenced and will continue to advocate for equality. Reflecting on the past, she noted the lack of female-led movies and directors when she first started acting, but praised the recent success that women have achieved at the box office.

She highlighted the success of three top-grossing films with female leads, including one directed by the talented Patty Jenkins.
