In a recent sit-down interview with MTV News’s Josh Horowitz, Gal Gadot opened up about her experience filming “Wonder Woman 1984,” her friendships with co-stars Kristen Wiig and Patty Jenkins, and what she looks for in a role.
The interview kicked off with a question about how it feels for Gadot to put on the iconic Wonder Woman costume. Gadot admitted that it still feels surreal, even after all this time. She also revealed that her daughter is fully aware of how iconic Wonder Woman is, and often asks her to dress up in the costume.
When it came to working with Patty Jenkins, Gadot couldn’t stop praising the director for her vision and leadership on set. She credited Jenkins with creating a supportive and collaborative environment that allowed the cast and crew to truly excel.
One of the most exciting aspects of “Wonder Woman 1984” for Gadot was the setting in the ’80s era. She spoke about the nostalgia of that time period and how it influenced both her character and the overall tone of the film.
Developing a friendship with Kristen Wiig, who plays the villain Cheetah in the film, was another highlight for Gadot. She gushed about Wiig’s talent and professionalism, and hinted at a possible future collaboration in a comedy film.
Speaking of comedy, Gadot was asked if she was ready to jump back into that genre. While she didn’t give a definitive answer, she hinted at her interest in exploring different genres and challenging herself as an actress.
Gadot also touched upon Wonder Woman’s new iconic armor in the film, as well as the upcoming release of Zack Snyder’s cut of “Justice League” and the potential for a third Wonder Woman film.
In addition to her work in the superhero genre, Gadot teased her upcoming projects, including “Red Notice” with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Ryan Reynolds, as well as the highly-anticipated film “Cleopatra.”
Throughout the interview, Gadot shared her passion for taking on roles that are both challenging and meaningful to her. She emphasized the importance of connecting with characters on a deep level and bringing something unique to each performance.
As the interview wrapped up, Gadot reflected on some of her “pinch yourself” moments in her career, expressing gratitude for the opportunities she has had and the incredible experiences she has been able to be a part of.
